Equestrian Awards

Sports Awards – Equestrian Descriptions

In Term 3 students will be asked to nominate for the Special Awards such as NEGS Spirit Awards, Young Sports Achiever, Junior Sports Achiever (Years 7-9), Student Coach of the Year, Nortec Sportswomanship Award, Most outstanding Individual Sporting Achievement, Service to Sport, Team of the Year, Sports Woman of the Year (which is across a range of sports). All the nominations are then voted on by all members of the Sports Committee, which includes members from P&F, PE, Equestrian, Old girls, School Executive, as well as the Principal.

The following are the requirements for the Equestrian awards, which are given out the 3rd weekend of term 4 at the sports dinner. 
The awards are only given out to those girls who fill in their achievement sheets and place them into the tray at the equestrian centre. The time frame is from term 4 to the end of term 3 holidays every year.

Awards given are Merits, Pockets, Half colours and Full colours, please see criteria below;


 

Dressage, Show Jumping, Eventing

 

Merits Description – award given for being in the first three places all disciplines Pony Club level or unofficial EFA

Pockets – award given for being placed in top 3 at 3 different competitions all disciplines  official EFA level

 

 

Coonabarabran, EFA Sydney Interschools or other non qualifying or Interschool competitions

 

Merits – award given for being in the first three places

Pockets – award given for being in 3 different disciplines or classes in top 3 places

 

 

Sporting

 

Merits Description – award given for being in the first three places at 3 different classes

Pockets – award given for being in the first three places at 3 different classes at 3 different competitions

 

Campdrafting

 

Merits Description – award given for being in the first three places at any event with more than 4 competitors

Pockets – award given for being placed in top 3 at 3 different competitions with more than 4 competitors

 

Polocrosse


Merit - Top 3 in 3 different competitions C grade and under

Pocket – Top 3 in 3 different competitions above C grade

 

Showing


Merit – 3 shows with higher than 3 placing at each

Pocket – 3 Champion or Reserve

 

Vaulting


Merit – Top 3 in 3 different classes at a competition

Pocket – Top 3 in 3 different classes at two different competitions

Half Colours - Top 3 in 3 different classes at a competition – official competitor at State

Full Colours– Top 3 at two different competitions- official competitor at Nationals

 

 

Half Colours – Junior or State Level EA - Top 10

Full Colours – Open  or National Level  EA–Top 20
